AS IN ALL OF OUR AUCTIONS, PRICED BELOW MARKET VALUE. VEHICLE HISTORY- The previous owner in Nebraska performed a restoration on this classic in 1999, and the Impala has been driven only about 7,000 miles since. I had an extensive conversation with this owner. He originally purchased this car as a driver while his GTO was being restored. He liked it so much, he decided to send it to the shop! He took the car to a well known restorer in the area, telling him he was in no hurry. He got it back 15 months later, and the wait was well worth it. Unfortunately, not too long after this job, the restorer passed on, making this the last restoration that he did. EXTERIOR- The body is string straight. All steel. Brand new full quarter panels. The shop did an excellent job with the quarters, retaining the original trunk lip so the GM original part numbers are there. There was some leakage in the trunk over the years, so a full trunk pan was installed. Some resto pics go with the car. The paint is mirror finish Regal Red base/clear. The paint has great depth and a highly buffed gloss. There is a small stone chip on the nose that was touched up, otherwise the paint is excellent, looks like it was painted yesterday. I am known in my auctions for accurately representing the vehicles- not over fluffing. It would be accurate to say this paint makes the car stand out in a crowd. Rear bumper is excellent. Front bumper is very good, but has a few scratches. The rest of the chrome, stainless, and emblems are excellent. Front windshield is new. The remaining glass is all original- in very good shape with no cracks, but there are the usual scratches from it's age. New chrome wheels with Chevy "Pie Pan" hubcaps. P215/70R14 radial tires. DRIVETRAIN- Correct HA code 327-275 HP. Engine has approximately 7,000 miles on a complete rebuild. Rebuilt Rochester Quadra-Jet carburetor. Rebuilt 3782461 High Performance double hump heads. Ram Horn exhaust manifolds- 3872765 left- 3747038 right. New welded dual exhaust. Engine bay is totally restored and done as close to factory correct as possible. Delco "Tar Top" battery with original style spring ring battery cables. . Factory correct hoses, clamps, etc. New master cylinder and lines. Original style ignition, wires, etc- all new or rebuilt. THIS IS A BARE BONES CLASSIC- MANUAL STEERING AND MANUAL BRAKES as ordered from the factory. Original Saginaw four speed transmission. Original 3.36 10 bolt differential. Engine runs flawlessly and capable of cruising all day at 180*. Transmission is in very good operating condition, but it is a typical light duty Saginaw. If you push in the clutch and shift normally, it works fine-an attempt at a clutch popping speed shift won't go over too well. I'm not sure if the skinny lever Hurst shifter was an original option, but everybody that owned the car said it was always there. Floors and frame are all original-rust free and solid as a rock. New fuel tank was installed. INTERIOR: With the exception of a brand new dash pad, the interior is all original and in very good condition. Seat covers are in good condition. There is a tiny cut on the driver's side outer seam and a couple small cracks in the side of the seat back that can't be seen when the door is closed. Excellent for almost 40 years old! Door panels in very good condition. Headliner in very good condition. Carpet in good condition. All new weatherstripping. New sill plates. Door jams in excellent shape. Also, no door sag. Full set of original GM seat belts. TRUNK- Trunk nicely detailed. New trunk mat. Because full quarters were installed, there are no seams in the quarters as when patch panels are used. All rock solid, new steel. New trunk seal.
