1955 BEL AIR HARDTOP- BODY OFF RESTORATION
THIS 1955 BEL AIR HARDTOP IS A RARE FIND. THIS INVESTMENT QUALITY CHEVY UNDERWENT A COMPLETE, NUT AND BOLT, FRAME OFF RESTORATION SEVERAL YEARS BACK. IT WAS THEN PLACED IN CONTROLLED CLIMATE STORAGE, BROUGHT OUT FOR ONLY A FEW SPECIAL OCCASIONS. RUST FREE CALIFORNIA BODY. POWER STEERING, BRAKES, WINDOWS, AND SEAT. REBUILT 350 CU. IN. LT1 ENGINE AND TURBO 400 TRANSMISSION. RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE NEW. EVERYTHING WORKS. EVERY COMPONENT OF THE VEHICLE WAS RESTORED. 72,091 MILES ON THE CAR AND LESS THAN 1,000 SINCE RESTORATION. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN INVESTMENT IN A TRI FIVE CHEVY, PLEASE READ ON. EXTERIOR- Arrow straight, rust free, all steel body panels. Fit on all panels is excellent. All chrome and stainless trim was redone or replaced. All glass is in excellent condition. The body was redone in the original factory Gypsy Red/Shoreline Beige lacquer. The finish is smooth and mirror gloss. Only one repaint since new- the body was stripped to bare metal before application of paint. There is some lacquer age checking in the beige on the quarter panels and the red over the passenger head light. You can see the checking under harsh flourescent lighting. If you are 2 feet away in the daylight, you cannot see it. Factory steel wheels were stripped and redone. Chevy hubcaps in excellent condition. Vintage Goodyear Polysteel radial whitewall tires- 225/70R15. BF Goodrich Silvertown 6.70x15 spare in the trunk. DRIVETRAIN- Rebuilt 1970 350 Cu. In. LT1 Chevy engine. 11:1 compression. Four bolt main block. Forged steel crank. Ed Pink rods by Carillo. CNC ported angle plug heads. Edelbrock Competition Series carburetor mounted on Holley aluminum intake manifold. Aluminum water pump. Vintage "Chevrolet Power" chrome valve covers. Factory generator/power steering unit. Hooker Headers. New exhaust with Turbo mufflers. Rebuilt Turbo 400 transmission with 2800 RPM stall converter. 4.11 Posi-Traction rear differential. Chassis was completely disassembled during restoration. All floors are finished in Red Oxide primer. Frame and suspension refinished in 30* Gloss Black. All new springs, shocks, brake lines, fuel lines, fuel tank, front suspension, bushings, bearings, seals, body bushings, etc. Take a look at the subframe supports in the undercarriage pics- every chassis component is clean, solid, and rust free. All new power drum brakes. Power steering. TRUNK- Immaculate inner quarters and trunk floor. Finished in white. Trunk mat replaced. Trunk sticker mounted on passenger inner quarter.
