HISTORY- IN THE 90'S THIS CAR WAS CAMPAIGNED IN THE NATIONAL MUSCLE CAR ASSOCIATION'S SUPER STREET 10.5 TIRE CLASS BY NICK SCAVO. NMCA SUPERSTARS AND PIONEERS INCLUDING SCAVO, CHUCK SAMUEL, AND SPIRO PAPPAS BROUGHT TO THE RACE FANS AN EXCITING NEW STYLE OF RACING. THE SPECTACLE OF A STREETABLE 8 SECOND MUSCLE CAR LAUNCHING WITH A HUGE WHEELSTAND AND HITTING THE TRAPS AT OVER 150 MPH IN A HEADS UP RACE EARNED THEM A HUGE FAN BASE. MANY OF THE ENGINES IN THE CLASS WERE IN FACT BUILT BY RACER SAMUEL AND HIS PARTNER JEFF D'AGOSTINO OUT OF THE FAST TIMES MOTORWORKS IN CHICAGO. THERE WAS A MINIMUM WEIGHT LIMIT ON THE CARS. THE FACT THAT THIS IMPALA TIPPED THE SCALES AT 4,000 POUNDS MADE IT'S PERFORMANCE EVEN MORE INCREDIBLE. THE SALE OF THE NMCA IN THE LATE NINETIES LED TO RULE CHANGES. SCAVO TURNED HIS SKILLS TO A '69 CAMARO, AND THE SECOND INCARNATION OF THE LEGENDARY IMPALA BEGAN.

RACER JOE PENZE WAS MAKING HIS OWN HISTORY, CAMPAIGNING IN THE WILDLY POPULAR BILL HOUGHTON'S CHICAGO OUTLAW MODIFIED SUPER STOCKS. IF YOU EVER WITNESSED HIS BLUE CAMARO LAUNCH OFF THE LINE, YOU KNOW WHY HE WAS NICKNAMED "BUMPER JOE". AFTER YEARS OF SKY HIGH WHEELSTANDS, IT WAS TIME TO RETIRE THE CAMARO. AFTER TAKING A BREAK AND TRAVELING, HE RESURFACED IN A 1984 CAMARO RACING WITH PETE DEMOS' WELL KNOWN CHICAGO WISE GUYS RACING TEAM. SOON, NICK AND JOE STRUCK A DEAL FOR THE IMPALA. JOE RACED THE IMPALA WITH THE CHCAGO WISE GUYS IN 2004. HE HAS NOW DECIDED TO TAKE A BREAK FROM RACING, SO HIS LOSS IS YOUR GAIN.

EXTERIOR: The all steel body is laser straight. Mirror finish black paint. World of Wheels show quality. Look at the picture of the roof if you want to see paint quality. All chrome and stainless in excellent condition. No lexan- all factory glass in very good condition. This paint has never been lettered or decaled. Composite cowl hood with hinges- opens like the factory designed. All headlights, tail lights, turn signals work. Stroud parachute. Pro Star wheels- Mickey Thompson ET 27.5x4.5-15 on front. Mickey Thompson 31x15-10.5 slicks on rear.

DRIVETRAIN- 632 Cu. In. Merlin block with Bill Miller rods and JE pistons. 4.600 bore- 4.750 stroke. Lunati crank. Dart 14* Big Chief Aluminum Heads with Titanium valves and Jessel valve train.. Barry Grant 1400 CFM carb mounted on a Dart manifold. N.O.S. Pro Fogger system. MSD Ignition with MSD 7 Programmable Box. Jessel belt drive. Moroso Evacuation System and external oil pump. High output alternator. Fabricated valve covers. Motor plates. Barry Grant 400 fuel pump with #12 lines from fuel cell to pump and #10 lines from pump to carb. Dyno Max 2 1/4" Race Headers with Dyno Max Race Magnum welded mufflers with 4" outlet. Only 12 passes on the engine since freshening. New Turbo 400 Race Trans with 2.10 first gear. Trans brake and Line Loc. Fab 9 rear end with 4.56 Pro Gear. Four link rear suspension. Four wheel disc brakes. Floors and frame are immaculate.
