EVERY NUT AND BOLT HAS BEEN DONE ON THIS CAR. 500 MILES SINCE RESTORATION! THIS IS NOT A CUT UP, TUBBED OUT RACE CAR CONVERTED TO THE STREET. THIS CHEVELLE IS COMPLETELY STOCK IN APPEARANCE EXCEPT FOR THE 4" COWL HOOD TO ACCOMODATE THE MINI BLOWER.. ALL ORIGINAL, ALL STEEL RUST FREE BODY PANELS. ORIGINAL ASTRO BLUE. COMPLETE STOCK INTERIOR. ALL ORIGINAL PRISTINE FLOORS AND TRUNK FLOOR.THE UNDERSIDE IS AS NICE AS THE EXTERIOR. YOU CAN PUT MIRRORS UNDER THE CAR AT SHOWS. BUILT TO CRUISE ALL DAY LONG. FACTORY AC. THIS BEAUTY WAS BORN A REAL SS 396. THERE IS NO BUILD SHEET, BUT EVERYTHING ON THE CAR IS SS DOWN TO THE ORIGINAL FACTORY WIRING HARNESS TO THE SS DASH. I HAVE KNOWN THE HISTORY ON THIS CAR FOR THE LAST 2 OWNERS, WHICH GOES BACK OVER 20 YEARS.
EXTERIOR: Arrow straight, original, rust free fenders, doors, quarters. VFN 4" fiberglass cowl hood. Mirror finish code 25 Astro Blue as per trim tag. Every piece of stainless trim is new. All bumpers, door handles, mirrors, and emblems are new. New windshield and rear glass. Side glass is original and in good condition, with the usual scratches for their age. The original SS wheels were sand blasted, repainted, and clear coated. New trim rings and center caps. New Dunlop GT Qualifier P235/60R14 radial tires. The body was totally disassembled and placed on a rotisserie for paintwork.
ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN: Fresh big block built by MPG Accessories in Highland Park, IL, one of the premier engine builders in the Midwest. This engine is built for power, but also dependable, maintenance free cruising at 195*. Engine bay is show finished in Astro Blue and Gloss Black. New GM standard bore 454 Cu. In. four bolt main block. TRW Forged Supercharger Pistons. SRS CNC machined, shot peened 3/8" rods. Childs & Albert's ZGS Zero Gap taper faced rings. Clevite M77 rod bearings. Childs & Albert's Cast Copper Lead Indium main bearings. GM polished forged steel crank. ARP bolts. Balanced rotating assembly. Comp Cams .547 lift roller cam with Comp Cams Pro Magnum hydraulic lifters. OME 1.7" aluminum roller rockers.ARP rocker arm studs. Weiand 177 Pro Street polished low profile supercharger and polished intake manifold. Holley 850 CFM supercharger double pump carb. MSD 6 AL ignition with Blaster coil. GM ported and polished oval port heads with Comp Cams stainless steel valves. Milodon eight quart oil pan. Melling high volume oil pump. Holley high flow mechanical fuel pump. Hedman Husler jet coated headers. Custom fabricated 3" stainless steel exhaust with Turbo mufflers and chrome tips. Street/Strip Turbo 400 transmission with 10" supercharger converter. No manual valve body that you have to shift when you drive. You can put this transmission in drive and take off. GM 12 bolt posi traction differential with 3.73 gears. Moser axles. Driveshaft loop. Heavy duty balanced driveshaft.
CHASSIS AND UNDERCARRIAGE: Floor pans are finished in Astro Blue base/clear coat. Frame, suspension, and fuel tank finished in black. Detailed so mirrors may be used at car shows. F41 suspension. Front and rear completely rebuilt. All new bushings, bearings, springs, shocks, etc. New body bushings. New front rotors and calipers. New rear drums and shoes. New brake and fuel lines. Extra mounting bar in rear for ladder bars. New fuel tank.
INTERIOR: Factory code 755 black vinyl bench interior as per trim tag. New front seat covers. Back seat in excellent condition. Door panels, headliner, and carpet in excellent condition. Original dash in very good condition, with one minor flaw in the dash pad on the passenger side. Factory AM/ Eight Track. B&M Ratchet Shifter. Small roll bar in the back that can be removed by unbolting it if you so desire. Original SS steering wheel in good shape, with a few small cracks. Auto Gage Tach and oil, amp, and water temperature guages. Tach and guages are held in place by a custom mount that enables mounting or removal without any damage to the dash face or any holes in the dash. Full set of original GM seat belts, including shoulder harnesses.
TRUNK: All original, rust free trunk pan and inner quarters. Brand new trunk mat. Radial spare tire with fifth SS wheel. Fresh splatter finish.
OPTIONS: Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, AM/ 8 Track, Factory Air Conditioning. All dash controls and air box are intact. For obvious reasons, the compressor was removed. I do not have it.
