Hi-Tech Superformance is the largest privately owned specialized auto manufacturing plant in the world. The facility is 270,000 square feet. Most components are manufactured in-house. The remainder are ordered from specialized suppliers. Although each replica adheres closely to original design and appearance, subtle modern accommodations are added to meet the demands of modern driving.
The bodies and body parts are created in the composite shop. All components are hand laid. All load bearing points are reinforced with steel. A key to the exquisite paint finish on these roadsters is the prep work. Hours of blocking and hand sanding result in nearly perfect finished bodies and panels. The same quality control is emphasized in the wet sanding and buffing after the base/clear has been applied and baked. The trademark results of this process are bodies and parts that never show pit marks, stress marks, or print through.
The stringent tolerances are repeated in the chassis shop. Master welders using heavy jigs create these chassis. The windscreens, interiors, exhaust systems, radiators, and fuel tanks are also produced in the factory. This manufacturing plant is one of the most self-sufficient in the world. Speedfreeks Motorsports in Woodstock, IL. prepared the awesome powerplant for this beauty. 514 Cu.In. big block. The entire rotating assembly was balanced. Cylinders were line bored and honed. Performance valve job. Eagle 15002 4.140 Stroke Crank. 3D H-Beam Rods. Keith Black Flat Topped Pistons. Chrome/Moly Rings. Clevite Bearings. Aluminum intake manifold. Demon Carb. The pan you see surrounding the carb allows only cold air to enter through the scoop. Custom High-Tech Headers and Stainless Exhaust with Side Pipes. Tremec 5 Speed manual Trans with Heavy Duty Clutch.
The hand laid fiberglass body and panels are finished in yellow with black striping. All door, hood, and trunk openings are steel reinforced. The body is mounted to the chassis and cockpit panels with state of the art flexible urethane adhesives to avoid all body stress. The paint is mirror finish base/clear coat. Windscreen fabricated to original specs. The bumpers are hand made and hand polished stainless steel. Halibrand type wheels. Two tops- Black soft top and matching hard top in yellow with black stripes.
Interior done in German quality automotive leather. Leather wrapped steering wheel. Original style dash panel and guages. Custom built console with AM/FM/CD. Racing harnesses. Everything in the interior in like new condition.
Fully finished trunk with rear mount battery, fire extinguisher, and amplifier for stereo. 304 grade stainless steel 17 gallon fuel tank. Four row high performance radiator with full shrouding and dual thermostatically controlled fans. Original style wiring harness with all lighting in original positions. Imported original style wiper assembly. Fabricated steel pedal box assembly with adjustable pedals.
Ventilated disc brakes all the way around. Chassis is jig welded heavy wall rectangular steel tubing with support gussets. The steel scuttle hoop with the door hinges, dash mounts, and windshield mounts is incorporated directly into the frame. Fully independent front suspension with adjustable coil over telescopic shocks. Fully independent rear suspension with alloy hub carriers and coil over shock absorbers. Ford Limited Slip 8.8 differential.
