YOU WON'T FIND ANOTHER FOR SALE ON THE INTERNET. THIS IS A FACTORY STOCK, FULLY RESTORED, UNMODIFIED 1938 FORD FORDOR DELUXE SEDAN. LAST SEASON, I TOOK THIS BEAUTY TO EIGHT SHOWS AND BROUGHT HOME EIGHT TROPHIES, INCLUDING FIRST PLACE POINTS AT A REGIONAL AACA MEET. THIS CLASSIC IS READY FOR THE 2004 SHOW SEASON. I DID A COMPLETE MECHANICAL INSPECTION, FIXED SOME MINOR THINGS, TUNED IT UP, BRAKE JOB, FULLY SERVICED, EVEN SHOW DETAILED. IT'S EVEN FULL OF FUEL. ALL THE NEW OWNER HAS TO DO IS PUSH THE STARTER BUTTON AND DRIVE. ALSO INCLUDED ARE SOME EXTRA MAINTENANCE PARTS, MANY PERIOD CORRECT MANUALS AND BROCHURES, AND A BOX FULL OF THE REMAINING ORIGINAL MAINTENANCE FLUIDS THE CAR REQUIRES. EXTERIOR: ALL STEEL-ALL ORIGINAL RUST FREE PANELS. There is no filler or bondo anywhere on this vehicle. Mirror finish Dartmouth Green paint. Fit and finish on all panels is excellent. Body was disassembled to paint, so all seals, gaskets, and ribbing are new. The original bumpers with the double rib marking on the back were sent out and rechromed. All chrome and stainless was repolished or redone. The four door handles were replaced, so they sit perfectly parallel when at rest. Functioning Ford Script Foglamps were added. Dual vacuum wipers work. Crank out windshield works freely with all new seals. Cowl vent works freely with new seals. ALL ORIGINAL DATE CODED GLASS. There is some slight delamination at the edges of some windows, but this is all original and it does not detract from point value on the car. Adjustable radio antenna moves freely. New correct rubber matting on floor boards. Stock Ford V8 script hubcaps, stock wheels, and Garfield 6.00x16 4 ply wide white wall tires. No turn siganls, correct from the factory. High and low beam headlights-functioning fog lamps on seperate control switch mounted under the dash.
DRIVETRAIN- Original 221 Cu. In., 85 HP Flathead V8. Upgraded 59 A-B 24 stud heads. Engine rebuilt to factory specs. Still uses 40W non-detergent motor oil with no oil filter. Oil change has 0 miles and extra correct oil included. Freshly rebuilt Stromberg 97 carburetor. Water pumps were upgraded, so engine runs at 180*. Engine bay has same finish as exterior of car. Winter maintenance included tune up, new starter and bendix, starter solenoid, new fuel pump, carburetor rebuild, new correct hose clamps, cooling system flush. Engine and engine bay are correct per factory specs. Just installed the new design Optima 6 Volt Battery encased in the correct Ford Script Battery Case. Engine runs on regular gas with lead additive. I also add a few ounces of Marvel Oil to the crankcase and fuel tank to keep things nicely lubricated. Rebuilt original 3 speed sliding gear manual transmission. New clutch. Stock rebuilt rear differential and torque tube. Stock adjustable lever type shock absorbers. Factory mechanical brakes-just redone with new brake shoes. Trans and differential just serviced with correct 600W fluid-extra fluid included with car, including shock absorber fluid. Floor pans painted Dartmouth Green. Chassis and suspension done in Black POR-15. Original gas tank was removed, boiled out, and remounted. I show the car with mirrors underneath. Unercarriage just detailed with satin finish Armor All.
INTERIOR: New factory correct Lebaron-Bonney Mohair seats. New headliner, carpet, rubber mat, door panels, and wind lacing. Interior work alone was over $3,000. All new window fuzzies and rebuilt window tracks. DASH, STEERING WHEEL, AND WOODGRAIN INTERIOR TRIM IS ORIGINAL! All knobs and handles original. Speedometer works-vacuum defroster fan works-radio works-wind up clock works-wipers work-interior lights work-dash lights work-dual horns work. Correct stock locking key operated ignition-lights and horn are operated correctly from steering wheel. Period correct color matching Brody Suicide Knob.
Trunk is also completely detailed with new trunk mat, package shelf, and correct matching spare tire.
