REAL 242 CODE 1970 PONTIAC GTO. THIS IS A NICE, SLIGHTLY MODIFIED STREET MACHINE WITH AIR CONDITIONING. A COMPLETE MECHANICAL RESTORATION WAS DONE APPROXIMATELY 10,000 MILES AGO. EXTERIOR: Original body panels-car is straight. Finished in Cardinal Red(was originally Palisades Green). Original black vinyl top in excellent condition. All original chrome and stainless in very good condition. New windshield-all other glass is original and in very good condition. Enduro bumper in good condition- flexible paint has a few cracks in the usual place near the hood latch. Two original T-3 headlights- two replacements. New Edelbrock Ultra five spoke chrome wheels. BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. Very good fit and finish on all body panels. Rust free car. Paint has mirror finish shine. There are a few flaws in the paint from driving the car.
INTERIOR: Original factory black bucket seat interior. Original seat covers in very good condition. Dash in great shape- no tears or cracks. Guage faces all clear. Door panels, carpet, headliner, package shelf all in very good condition. This was an original column shifted car. This has been moved to the floor with a B&M Hammer Shifter. All interior woodgrain is uniform and secure- no wrinkling or tearing. Panasonic AM/FM/Cassette replaces original radio. Dash was not cut or altered for radio fit. Factory tachometer. Autometer guages attached to bottom of dash- no cutting or modifying of dash to install. Grant Pontiac Custom Wheel. DRIVETRAIN: Correct YC code 455 cu.in. engine.(Not numbers match). Turbo 400 transmission. FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING. Both the engine and transmission were completely rebuilt approximately 10,000 miles ago. Engine has been slightly modified for a little added performance. Stock Pontiac heads were polished. Edelbrock Competition Series four barrel carburetor. Competition Cams hydraulic cam and lifters. Stock exhaust manifolds. Taylor 8MM Silicone Wires. MSD 6A Ignition Box with MSD Blaster II Coil. Flowmaster mufflers and exhaust system. Turbo 400 automatic transmission was completely rebuilt with elevated shift points. As stated before, shifted with a B&M Hammer Shifter. Twelve bolt rear differential with heavy duty sway bar. When the mechanical restoration was done, the undercarriage was completely stripped and redone in correct frame black. At this time, suspension was checked and upgraded as needed. Power disc brakes- all brakes were redone approximately 1,000 miles ago. OPTIONS: Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Air Conditioning, Factory Tach, Bucket Seats, Posi Traction, AM/FM/Cassette, Remote Mirror, Tinted Glass, Vinyl Top.
