ATTENTION MUSCLE CAR LOVERS! ARE YOU TIRED OF LOOKING AT CHEVELLES PRICED BETWEEN $25,000 AND $35,000? PLEASE READ THIS AD. HERE IS A CHANCE TO OWN A BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED 1969 CHEVELLE AT A RECESSION PRICE!!
EXTERIOR: This is a laser straight body. Two new FULL NOS quarter panels. These quarters can't even be purchased anymore. In 1993, the Black Deltron Urethane was applied by Stealth Auto Body. At this time, they also installed a new Black vinyl top. In 2003, well known Performance Restorations in Mundelein, IL. refreshed the exterior with over $1,500 in blend/buff/detail work. A new Red stripe kit was also laid onto the mirror finish. All new emblems were purchased as well as show chromed bumpers. New windshield and door side glass- the rest is original and in great shape. The only alteration to the exterior is the substitution of Tuxedo Black body color instead of the original Garnet Red. Five spoke SS Wheels were sandblasted and correctly repainted. Brand new BF Goodrich Radial Tires are mounted on the wheels.
DRIVETRAIN: In 2000, Speed Performance Inc. built this stout but very streetable 396. It is a 9.6:1 compression Regular Gas engine. The block was bored .030 over. Stock items were replaced with a veritable "Who's Who" list of upgrades. The Chevy Oval Port Heads were ported and polished. Comp Cams furnished the .510 lift hydraulic cam and valvetrain. MSD 6A Ignition supplies ample spark. Fuel is fed from an Edelbrock Performer Series 750 Four Barrel Carburetor to a Jet Coated Edelbrock Performer Intake. This rumbler is kept in balance with an ATI Super Dampner. A Tilton Hi-Torque Starter spins the powerplant over with the assistance of an Optima heavy duty battery. A new HD Four Core Hi-Flow Radiator keeps this motor at a steady 180 degrees. Part of the secret to the cool running temps is the ease in which this engine breathes. Big Hooker Competition Plus Headers exhale into a Torque- Technologies full 3 inch exhaust system with Turbo Mufflers. A new wire loom was installed from the firewall plug forward. New power steering pump. Power is transferred to a rebuilt Turbo 400 Transmission and Torque Converter. Again, streetability was of utmost importance, so a B&M Trans Cooler was bolted in. Gears are shifted with a B&M Mega-Shifter. HOWEVER, THE ORIGINAL FACTORY CONSOLE AND STIRRUP SHIFTER ARE INCLUDED WITH THE CAR! The RPM's flow through a balanced driveshaft with new heavy duty U-Joints to a stock Chevelle differential housing with 3.73 Richmond Gears. A new polyurethane front suspension rebuild kit was added, as well as rear control arm bushings. In addition, stock body mounts were replaced with Hyper Flex Polyurethane Body Bushings.
INTERIOR: Originally factory Black, the complete interior was redone in Red. Absolutely no shortcuts here. Bucket and rear seats repadded and recovered. Dash repainted and repadded. New headliner, carpet, door and kick panles, sail panels, seat backs, seat belts, package tray, door and window handles, even new dome light and bezel! Autometer Guages, reproduction AM/FM/Cassette, and Grant GT Wheel finish off the appearance.
OPTIONS: Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Bucket Seats, Tilt Wheel, AM/FM/Cassette, Tinted Glass, Red Side Stripes.
All my ads are TRUTHFUL AND ACCURATE, so I will list the few MINOR flaws the car has. It has already trophied at an outdoor show earlier this summer. However, to be true show quality, the new owner should replace the door handles, headlight and tail light bezels, and eyebrow mouldings. That's it.
